Start of Winter Quarter and Updates

January 6, 2026

I meant to post a blog update after Fall quarter ended, but I never got around to it (whoops!), but I am back with another update now that Winter quarter has started.

I got a lot of work done through winter break, I wish I was able to get more, but my part-time job did take a good chunk of time away. Anyways, I have a somewhat polished and working version of meap! I will be posting about it publicly on LinkedIn in a couple of days, and I hope that people will see it. Although I do want it to be something bigger (maybe a startup?), it is a showcase of what I can do as well as a showcase of my passion for programming. One of the main results I would like is for someone to see it and reach out to me whether it be a recruiter or potential mentor. I will be looking for a full time job / internship, so this exposure will hopefully help me find a company to work for since I am very eager to start building for a company. I also would love a mentor. Someone to mentor me throughout my career as I am just starting as well as someone who can potentially help me get meap to a point where it is a flagship app that can become a startup rather than just a project.

As for my school-life, I have started working as a TA for my school's (UCSD) software engineering course! I have been a tutor throughout my undergrad, so this is a good step-up from that. With a more prestigious title comes more responsibilities, and I am excited help people learn how to build great maintainable software as well as the Agile development cycle. I am in charge of making the labs for the class since there is a lab component, and we are working with JavaFX. Although it is not as modern and commonly used, it will be the vehicle that teaches students how to develop software using Java (what my professor wants). It is also a good opportunity for me to sharpen my Java skills since most of my projects are in Typescript. As for my actual classes, I am taking 2 AI/ML courses and 1 course about software engineering. I am looking forward to learning more about AI/ML since I am still relatively new to it, and I'm really looking forward to learning more about how to become a better software engineer, I want to apply those principles to how I code my projects.

That's about it for now! Expect more blogs/notes since I have recently updated my personal website to contain a blog/note creator. Before, I had to hard-code it as actual files in my personal website's directory. But now, I have a blog/note creator that I can use as long as I have access to the internet. This will make it way easier for me to type up blogs and notes since I can do it on my phone or laptop when I'm on the bus or at school. See y'all in the next blog!
